Tax Return

I saw an interesting article about tax exempt for Thailand, please go to the article 22 in the following link.

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-trty/thailand.pdf

To file the tax return form 1040NR-EZ, the followings are what we are going to prepare:

  1. File the 1040NR-EZ
  2. W-2
  3. Put 1) and 2) in an envelop
  4. Send it to the IRS

By direct-deposit option, we will get back our money into the bank account around 1 month after you mail the form to IRS. However, I heard some people use “e-file” option, much faster than mailing and we can get the money back within a week or two! However, this e-file option is not eligible for non-resident students. Again, also I heard some non-resident students succeed with this e-file option and get money back within a week or two.
