My Dream Projects (MDP)

Here are my dream projects — sometimes are nonsense, but I think it worths trying!

  • A stand used to hold a book for people who love reading when they are laying down. I’m not so sure about eye-physical effect from doing this.
  • Automatic translation system for Thai language so that kids in Thailand can read interesting articles in English.
  • The behavior of cats when it hears its own voice added with some effects such as echo, reverb, frequency shifting, etc. Also try to mimic the cat voice and see its behavior.
  • Cat language recognition –> let a cat expert collect the data of the cat voices calling at different occasions, for example hungry, happy, sad, needing something, needing help. This can be implemented by SVM because the cat expert himself does not know exactly what the cat feeling at that time is. That means the data labeled by the expert sometimes are false. In other words, we have uncertainty in the training data too. I think SVM can help out because it can deal with the impact of that the training dataset can be mis-labeled.
  • Item price-tracing website –> see the trends of price for an (electronics) item, plot the price vs the time –> leads to the price prediction given a situation such as the increase in the silicon price.
  • Chaos garden –>fractal and randomness can make a very nice garden on internet
  • simulated DNA –> create virus that can modify the appearance of themselves according to its DNA and also take the DNA into account for having a particular form. Perhaps we have to model the shape as a parametric function of its DNA plus some random variations.
